Kevin is Chairman of Cruise New Zealand, the industry association, and leading voice, for New Zealand’s Cruise Sector providing leadership and facilitation to the New Zealand tourism industry to ensure a sustainable and prosperous growth of New Zealand’s cruise sector. Members include key stakeholders in the cruise industry such as cruise lines, ports, Regional Tourism Organisations, local government authorities, ground handlers, shipping agents, airlines, tour operators, provedores, and service operators.
He travels to the US each year with the Cruise New Zealand team, advocating for New Zealand as a destination, discussing environmental and operational matters with cruise ship company principals, and working with the General Manager and other members to represent New Zealand at Seatrade Global.
Kevin is harbourmaster for one of New Zealand’s most scenic locations – Fiordland on the south west coast of New Zealand’s South Island, managing the many cruise ships transiting that area each year. He has extensive experience gained from many years at sea, and ashore, in various maritime roles, which enables him to provide an operational and environmental aspect to Cruise New Zealand.
